Cynthiana Main Street
Welcome to Cynthiana...
Cynthiana is nestled in the heart of the “golden triangle” along the banks of the South Fork of the Licking River. It was established in 1793, and according to tradition, it was named in honor of the daughters of Robert Harrison, Cynthiana, and Anna. Cynthiana loves welcoming visitors and has a little bit of something for everyone, including browsing our lovely shops, dining in our restaurants, and visiting our many historic attractions. And if you are lucky, you might just happen upon one of our festivals!
However you choose to experience downtown Cynthiana we are certain that you will be welcomed, and we will make you fall in love with us at first sight, because “Life is Downtown.”
Cynthiana Main Street, a Kentucky Main Street Program, is a community-based volunteer organization dedicated to securing the economic vitality and aesthetic quality of the downtown. While our focus of economic development and historic restoration is limited to an area of the downtown, our membership is comprised of businesses and individuals throughout the community who believe in the importance of preserving and maintaining downtown Cynthiana.
The mission of the Cynthiana Main Street program is to help revitalize our downtown. It is our aim to help stimulate economic development and investment in downtown by encouraging cooperation and building leadership in our local business community. It is our aim to promote a positive image of our downtown by advocating and supporting its unique and distinct qualities, as a great place to live, work, shop, and invest in.
"Life is Downtown"
As the Director of the Cynthiana Main Street, I want to welcome you to visit our Main Street website. The site will be updated in the future with a downtown directory, business information, and real estate information.
Cynthiana is a very unique rural downtown; it’s historically beautiful and filled with people who are passionate about bringing it to life! We have a variety of shops, delicious dining options, and streets filled with beautiful architectural stock.
